What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that is downloaded to your device (computer, mobile phone or tablet) when you access certain web pages. Among other things, cookies allow a web page to store and retrieve information about a user's browsing habits.
This website uses only one technical preference cookie
This website does not use analytics, advertising or third-party cookies. It uses only the first-party NEXT_LOCALE cookie, which is set only when you explicitly choose a language. Its sole purpose is to remember the language you chose during subsequent browsing. Because the configuration does not assign it a persistent lifetime, it is a session cookie and expires when the browser session ends.
This is why you will not see a cookie banner on this website: this expressly requested technical preference does not require your consent.
What else is stored on your device?
In addition, only if you choose:
- Your light or dark mode preference. If you change the theme using the menu button, the browser remembers it so that your choice is respected on your next visit. It is saved in your browser's local storage under the name
theme; it is not a cookie, it is not sent to any server and it tells us nothing about you. If you do not use the button, nothing is saved.
This storage is an interface customisation that you expressly requested and therefore falls within the exception provided for in Article 22.2 of the LSSI, the rule that requires consent to store information on your device.
Audience measurement without analytics cookies
We use analytics from Vercel, our hosting provider, to learn how many visits each page receives and how quickly it loads. It works without cookies and without persistent identifiers: it does not create a profile of you, track you across websites or make it possible to recognise you on a later visit. The data is served from our own domain and we receive it in aggregate form.
As this is our own audience measurement, limited to aggregate statistics about our site and not shared with anyone for any other purpose, it does not require your prior consent. Vercel acts as a data processor and may process this data outside the European Union; we explain this in the privacy policy.
Anti-spam verification on the contact page
The contact form includes Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated submissions and it is activated only on the /en/contact page: if you do not visit it, your browser never contacts Cloudflare.
Turnstile does not install cookies on this website, but Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical data from your browser so that it can perform its function. It is a security measure that is strictly necessary to provide you with a service that you requested—sending us the form—so it does not require prior consent either. Cloudflare acts as a data processor.
How you can verify and erase this information
You do not have to take our word for it: open your browser's developer tools, go to the storage section and check for yourself.
If you want to remove your language preference and theme preference, erase the site data for subur.dev from your browser settings. You can also browse in private mode or block local storage: the website will continue to work normally and will simply open each visit using your system theme.
If this changes
If we ever introduce anything that does require your consent—for example, advertising pixels, embedded videos or third-party tracking tools—we will publish the corresponding banner, with the option to reject as accessible as the option to accept, and update this page before doing so. For as long as this document says what it says today, there are no cookies or other forms of storage that require consent.
